Disability/Visibility Project

Disability/Visibility is a free 8-week community arts project, culminating in a gallery show in the Fall. Youth 18-30 who identify with the experience of disability will work with Toronto photographer Effie Biliris to develop photography skills. Participants will explore disability, identity and community in various locations in the city while working in groups and individually alongside Effie.

Crip Storytelling with Ophira Calof

This program invites a cross-disability group of participants to explore how we tell our personal stories through a Disability lens. Ophira will lead a presentation session on Crip Storytelling to introduce the topic and give participants some writing or storytelling prompts. The presentation will be followed by the opportunity to join a supportive small group writing lab session where participants are invited to share and workshop their stories.

Presentation will include ASL to English interpretation and automatic closed captions will be enabled. Please let us know about any other accommodation needs in your registration. The presentation will be recorded and available for two weeks.

This program is presented by the Centre for Independent Living Toronto and the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre.
