Lifeguards

Schedule:

• Various shifts available during regular business hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all safety and lifeguarding procedures are adhered to, and in the event of an emergency respond as trained by the Lifesaving Society and Miles Nadal JCC.

• Ensures that members and staff adhere to pool conduct guidelines and use a proactive approach to ensuring safety and accident prevention.

• Sets up and takes down equipment and inspects equipment to ensure it is in good working condition

• Conducts facility inspections, completes opening and closing checklists, daily scheduled chemical tests, and advises supervisor of any concerns found

• Complete accident and incident reports when necessary

• Provide information to members regarding procedures, programs, schedule, and special events.

• Maintains a clean and safe environment

• Depending on shift, responsible for opening and/or closing procedures

Qualifications and Requirements:

• National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid, CPR-C

• Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada.

• A Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment for all staff. 

• Please note that full vaccination against COVID-19 (or valid accommodation) is required to work in-person at the MNjcc at this time

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary starting at $17.50/hr based on experience and shift type

• For the duration of employment, you are entitled to a membership for the Miles Nadal JCC fitness centre with access to all classes and amenities.

• All part-time staff are entitled to 2 personal emergency leave days per year.
