About this Role
Schedule:
Contract will run from June 23rd – August 15th
37.5 hours a week
8 hours shifts scheduled between the hours of 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and organize children in attendance during indoor activities, field trips, outdoor play, and gym times.
Facilitate a camp program that is age-appropriate, taking into account multiple levels of abilities.
Get to know each child individually to instill confidence, encourage creative and cognitive skills and master social skills,
Swim with the children up to three times a week.
Constantly supervisor children and adhere to designated camper: staff rations
Show enthusiasm for all facets of camp life.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within 6 months of the contract’s start date.
Current Standard First Aid CPR-C
Up-to-date immunization record (TB, Hep B, MMR)
Staff must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children
Ability to work as part of a team
Must have an outgoing personality and work well with children
Ability to communicate easily with parents.
Strong interpersonal skills- must be able to work with a diverse group with differing needs and different abilities.
Please note that full vaccination against covid-19 (or valid accommodation) is currently required to work in-person at the MNjcc at this time.
Staff must be able to work the entire duration of the contract, candidates who cannot work all weeks will not be considered.
Salary and Benefits:
$16.55/hour, plus eligibility for Provincial Wage Enhancement Grant
2 Personal Emergency Leave Days
Gym membership for the duration of the contract
Opportunities for additional work at the end of the contract within the Early Childhood Education Department.

Short Description of the Position:
The role of Summer JCamp Staff will support the facilitation of Summer JCamp by engaging with and implementing a stimulating program for children and having open communication with families.
