Questions about our new streaming platform: MNjcc On Demand

    STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO SUBSCRIBE

Why are we moving most of our programming to a platform like On Demand?

On March 15, 2020, the MNjcc was forced to close its physical building due to COVID 19. However, we did not want to give up our important role as a community centre, so we quickly pivoted and began to offer online programs in a variety of formats and locations. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Zoom … there were simply too many platforms and many of our community members were missing out on content because it was so confusing. MNjcc On Demand is our one-stop-shop for most of our programming as of June 22, 2020. For one low monthly subscription fee ($36), you’ll have access to everything from fitness to arts, from Jewish life to kids programming.

    How does it work?

www.mnjccondemand.ca has three levels of access:

    1. Free Registered User
This will give you access to the site so you can get an idea of all the videos we have to offer but watch only those we have made available for free.

    2. Day Pass
For $10 you will be able to access all of our On Demand videos for 24 hours. Watch as much as you want as often as you want. You’ll have full access for 24 hours.

    3. Monthly Subscription
For just $36 a month, your household will have full access to our video catalogue all day, every day as long as you keep the subscription going.

    How do I subscribe?

On June 22, visit www.mnjccondemand.ca and click on the 'Register' button. You will be asked for your name, email address, and a password to create an account. You will then receive an email to validate your email address, and then you can log in.
Once you have logged in, click on any video you wish to watch, and if it requires a subscription, a window will open that allows you to pick either a day pass or a monthly membership. Fill out your payment details, and once that is processed, you have instant access.  YOUR FIRST TWO WEEKS ARE FREE IF YOU SUBSCRIBE BEFORE JULY 1, 2020!  Yes, you'll need to provide a credit card but no, we won't start charging your card until two weeks after you've subscribed.

Why can't I see the On Demand website clearly on my iPhone or iPad?

You're probably using Safari as your browser.  Unfortunately, the site does not work properly using Safari on iPads or iPhones; it will work using Chrome as your browser instead.

Can you log in on more than one device (if a parent and child want to watch different videos)?

We are currently allowing three (3) devices per email address to access the system under one monthly subscription price.

Can I watch with my friends and family?

Family... yes! The $36 per month subscription is for your household. Three devices within that household can enjoy our programming.
Friends... maybe, if you are all living in the same place.

How long will fitness classes stay up on the site for me to watch?

Fitness classes will be available to watch beginning at the indicated time on our schedule and will last a minimum of 24 hours. Most will remain for at least a week.

    What is the Cancellation Policy?

You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time. You will stop being billed and will have access for the remaining days of the month for which you have already paid. Day passes cannot be cancelled. They will automatically expire after 24 hours.

What if I can't afford it? Are there subsidies like your EAP program?

If you are unable to afford the subscription, please contact Wendy at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You will be asked for some financial information, and if you qualify, you will be given a code to enter at registration to lower your price. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Our former in-person EAP program required you to pay monthly for membership access each month. You could skip a month if you didn’t want access or couldn’t afford that month. MNjcc On Demand will not work that way. Once you subscribe, you will be charged your discounted rate EVERY MONTH until you cancel.

Will streaming continue when you reopen?

Even when we do reopen our building, there will be physical distancing rules in place for the foreseeable future. Many in our community will not be comfortable being inside buildings, or close to other people. This platform will continue as long as there is a need and demand for it. How it will integrate with our on-premise, in-person membership is still being decided, please stay connected via The Pulse Newsletter for future information about reopening.

Will all the JCC programs be brought On Demand?

Not all, no. Some of our programs will not translate well to our online platform. Programs like Hebrew classes, Suzuki music lessons, and virtual personal training will continue to be offered outside of the platform, but other than our highly interactive programs, all content will be on the platform.

Is there a way to watch a video after it has left On Demand?

Unfortunately, no. In order to stay fresh and current, our new programs will be added on a regular basis, while old content will be removed. If you do miss out on something and REALLY want it back, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject line “Please bring back” and the program name. If there are enough requests and we can reobtain permission, we will bring it back.

Who do I contact if I am having technical difficulties (including registration)?

Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject line “on demand technical difficulties.” We will endeavour to respond within 48 hours.

    Does your content have subtitles?

We are doing our best to eventually add subtitles to all new videos. We will not have them at the start, but we will be adding more as the platform continues to grow.

Who do I contact about accessibility needs?

Please contact Liviya at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for any accessibility needs.

Who do I contact if I have a video idea?

General Questions about our COVID-19 building closure:

How do I see the fitness videos you're posting every day?

Until June 22, 2020 - check our MNjcc Fitness Instagram account (@mnjccfitness) and our Facebook page. After June 22, our fitness videos will be On Demand!  www.mnjccondemand.ca

Will I get my money back for missed programs?

If you had already paid for spring programs/or monthly fees from before our building closed, your dollars from March 15th onwards have been automatically credited for your future use at the MNjcc (including our growing suite of online programs). Many of you have also expressed interest in supporting the MNjcc by converting these or future fees into donations to the MNjcc. You may share your preference to convert your fees (current and/or future) into a donation – or share any other requests - here.

    What about summer camp?

In line with the announcement from the City of Toronto, the Miles Nadal JCC has made the difficult decision to cancel in-person summer camps this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our staff have reached out to camp families to arrange credit or refund options for any camp fees you have already paid. If you did not hear from us please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    What about private swim lessons?

Your payment is on hold for your future use at the MNjcc.

    What about annual memberships?

Your annual membership is currently on hold while we are closed. Once we reopen, your expiry date will extend for the amount of time that we were closed, so you will still get a full year of membership!

    What about personal training?

Your payment is on hold for your future use at the MNjcc; however, we now offer online personal training! Only $99 for three 30 minute sessions.  This is a challenging time to stay active and keep fit.  Also, it’s hard to be motivated to exercise on your own.  We understand and we are here for you!  If you are interested in learning more, please click here and fill out an interest profile

How do I contact staff members?

Our staff members are currently working from home which makes it difficult to reach them by phone. If you have an email address for them you can continue using that. If you don’t, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will do our best to pass your message along. Please be aware that as the situation continues, we may not have a full complement of staff and reaching them may not be possible.

Will cancelled programs be offered when you reopen?

We are actively working with our instructors to plan for what is possible when we reopen and would make financial arrangements with you for use of a credit, or an all-new registration process.

When can I use the credits?

As soon as the J is up and running again, you’ll be able to use your credits towards our next available session.

How can we request online programs?

We’d love to hear how we can serve you #beyondabuilding. Though we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to do it all, we’d love to hear your thoughts! Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    When will the building reopen?

We don’t have a re-opening date yet, but we are actively following public health recommendations for the City.

Do you have SMS services for those who only use mobile/cellular phone?

At this time, we communicate through email or by phone. If you have accessibility needs and would like us to connect with you by SMS, please text 416.899.6656 or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Do you offer fitness equipment to rent during this time?

We don’t, unfortunately. Our entire building and all of our equipment has been sanitized and is waiting patiently for our members to return! In the meantime, why not work out with what you have at home? Canned goods and laundry detergent jugs make great free weights!

Do I still have a membership?

Unless you reached out personally and indicated otherwise then yes, you still have a membership! If you’re concerned, please reach out to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
