The MNjcc Memorial Page is a space where we acknowledge our members and friends who have recently passed away. May their memory be a blessing. If you know of an MNjcc member or friend who has recently passed away, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will include them on this page. And please, consider the MNjcc in your estate planning. A gift in your will can help to ensure that future generations experience the same joy and wonderful community that the JCC inspires today. Beverley Fingerhut z"l was one of the very first female IT executives in Canada, becoming Vice-President at CGI Canada. Later, she became National Program Director at the Centre of Excellence in Business Analysis at the Schulich School of Business at York University. A lifelong learner and hearty appreciator of culture, her love of art inspired her to volunteer as a docent at the AGO. A devoted Miles Nadal JCC Lay Leader, Beverley generously volunteered her time for six years to lovingly curate and lead the MNjcc Book Club. In December 2019, UJA Federation honoured Beverley with a Community Volunteer Award, celebrating those who inspire others. She has touched and transformed the lives of so many in our JCC community, and she will be dearly missed. May Beverley's memory be a blessing. Please feel free to donate (as per her family's wishes) and/or leave a note for Natalie and the family.
Coleman Bernstein z"l founded and led the MNjcc's Michael Bernstein Chapel, named in memory of his dear brother lost in the war. Coleman was devoted to his beloved J and the Chapel group. He showed generosity in supporting our seniors and our Veterans and was a pillar of the J. Those who knew him over the years responded to his warmth, humour and constant presence. He will truly be missed. Expressions of sympathy can be left on the Benjamins website. We look forward to honouring his memory in the future, as our building opens up. Please feel free to donate (as per his family's wishes) and/or leave a note for Evelyn and the family.
