Lifeguards
As an employee of the Miles Nadal JCC, the Swim Instructor will be reporting to the Aquatics Manager and Lesson Coordinators. Swim Instructors are responsible for providing high-quality swimming lessons to participants of all ages and abilities. Swim Instructors must be comfortable teaching both group and private lessons and all levels of the Red Cross Swim Program. They will conduct swimming lessons in a safe and enjoyable environment demonstrating good class control and safety supervision.
Customer service is our top priority and Swim instructors will play an important role in helping swimmers achieve their goals through education in an inclusive and accessible environment.
Schedule:
• Must be available to work weekends and/or weekdays and be able to commit to full session

Swim Instructors
Working in the Early Childhood Education department, the After School Program Staff is responsible for program planning and facilitating an engaging and safe program for children aged 4-12. The program operates daily between the hours of 3-6 pm.

After School Program Staff
Part-time • Starting September 6
The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is seeking an experienced RECE teacher for its After School Program. Preference will be given to RECE teachers with previous experience in Play-Based Learning and/or a Child Directed Learning program. Primary responsibilities include observing children and implementing a stimulating program for the children and open communication with parents.

Under the supervision of the Director of Fitness & Wellness, the Fitness Floor Staff are responsible for managing and maintaining the fitness floor, being responsive to members by offering assistance and educating them on the safe and correct use of cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Additionally, the fitness floor staff/personal trainers perform welcome orientations, promote personal training offerings, conduct one-on-one member fitness assessment sessions and answer fitness related questions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Represent the Fitness Centre in a positive and professional manner at all times. Actively engaging with members: greeting, conversations, answering questions, providing assistance and maintaining a general positive and professional attitude in all interactions.

The Group Fitness Instructor will develop and deliver high quality, motivating fitness class programming for members, and will play a customer service role in helping the members of the MNjcc achieve their fitness goals through education and training in a fitness centre setting.

Pickleball Instructor

We are currently looking to add a full time supply staff/float to our team. We are seeking a dynamic RECE or ECA who is looking to join a great team of educators in our Toddler, Preschool, JK and School Age programs at a wonderful community centre. Supply staff will cover our regular staff absences or provide additional support to our classrooms depending on the needs of the day.
Schedule:

Full-time, starting ASAP
A member of the Al Green Theatre team, the technician is responsible for the overall technical set and execution of events. The Technician’s primary function is to work with the event organizer on the day-of the event to assist with meeting lighting, sound and video requirements for each event. In addition the Technician liaises with theatre clients and front of house staff to ensure the smooth execution of events, and uphold theatre policy and procedure. The Al Green Theatre is a fast-paced, professional and collaborative work environment which hosts a wide range of arts and community events from film screenings, to concerts, panel discussions and theatrical and dance presentations.

Under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Director of School Age Programming (ADSP), the Coordinator of School Age Programming (CSP) will be an energetic, creative, and passionate leader serving a key role in the overall supervision of JCamp, Afterschool programs, Break camps and Schools Out programming. This will include, among other duties, management of schedules, and assisting in the development of meaningful programs for children enrolled in our programs. The CSP will assist in overall operations of this area of the Early Childhood Department. In partnership with the Assistant Director, the Coordinator will manage day-to-day functions and programs of camp and school age programming and to provide leadership and support for staff.

Full-time
As an employee of the Miles Nadal JCC, the Athletics Instructor will be reporting to the Manager, Recreational Programming; the Athletics Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality, motivating group Pickleball training. The Athletics Instructor will develop and deliver high-quality, motivating Pickleball programming for members, and will play a customer service role in helping the members of the MNjcc achieve their athletic goals through education and training in a friendly and inclusive setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Creating and instructing safe, comprehensive, and energetic lessons within the scope of the participant’s abilities.

Providing instruction, guidance, and/or demonstration of safe Karate techniques and use of equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A solid understanding of athletic training principles, body movement patterns and the technical aspects of Karate training.

A current, accredited Karate certification

A current Standard First Aid CPR-C certification or completion of Standard First Aid CPR-C within one month of employment start date (provided by JCC on-site or at an accredited institution at the employee’s expense)

Youth Karate Instructor

Ensure attendance is correctly completed each day with absent children clearly noted.

Ensure the safety of all children in attendance at JCamp.

Communicate with the Manager regarding any areas of concern regarding health and safety of children as well as concerns with specific children.

Get to know each child individually to instill confidence, encourage creativity and cognitive skills, master social skills.

Assist the children with lunch and snack routines.

Provide direct supervisor to 2-3 campers groups and staff, mentoring and supporting Camp Staff as needed. Provide verbal feedback to Camp Staff as required.

Facilitate Pre-Camp Training by leading informational sessions and group games.

Address parental concerns and coordinate discussions with multiple levels of staff in the agency to address new or ongoing issues.

Ensure camper groups have the necessary resources to fulfill programmed activities and notify Manager, JCamp when materials need to be purchased.

Fill in for camp staff when necessary.

The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is seeking volunteers for its After School Program. Whether you are a senior or a student or anything in between, we welcome you to volunteer with us.
Schedule:
After School Program runs from September to June and volunteers should commit on a weekly basis.
Shifts will be scheduled between the hours of 3:00pm to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

To ensure the safety of all children in attendance

Assist ASP Staff with delivering all activities

Maintain a clean and safe environment for children at all times

Communicate with the teachers regarding any areas of concern regarding safety of the children
